Our most popular Class 7 truck, the Hino 338 is strong, reliable and comes equipped with a long list of standard features. The engine power, axle capacity and 5 available wheelbases make the 338 useful for a wide range of applications from general freight to specialized vocations. Hino's 220 hp 6-cylinder, turbocharged, diesel engine provides excellent fuel economy, power, throttle response and best of all, legendary Hino reliability.

The standard transmission is an Eaton FS5406A manual (253" and 271" wheelbase) and an Allison 2500RDS 6-speed automatic transmission with PTO capability is optional. Wheelbases up to 271" provide a strong base from which you can customize the 338 to suit your particular need. The Hino 338 comes equipped with hydraulic disc brakes and ABS, eliminating air brake endorsement requirements in some provinces. Rear air suspension is optional, and when combined with superb manoeuvrability, excellent visibility and a long list of standard features, the 338 is sure to be at the top of the driver comfort list.

Hino is a leader in environmentally friendly diesel engines. Using ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel, Hino's Diesel Particulate Reduction (DPR) system collects and periodically re-burns the soot that derives from diesel fuel combustion. This leading edge technology reduces soot exhaust by an amazing 90%! The Hino DPR technology has been proven effective and reliable here and in Japan.
